We get a lot of questions about whether you can meet Pocahontas in Disneyland. The answer is yes, but not where you would think.
It is disappointing that Pocahontas does not have her area at Disneyland, though she has space in some of the other Disney parks.
Disneyland Paris does a great job with Pocahantos Village, and Disney World gives her a small space in Animal Kingdom, but it is hard to find her in Disneyland.
IS THERE A POCAHONTAS AT DISNEYLAND
Pocahontas is, unfortunately, not one of the main characters you can spend time with at Disneyland; she does not have her own space like many of the other princesses. But there is sometimes a way to get a glimpse of her.
WHERE IS POCAHONTAS AT DISNEYLAND
The most visible location to see Pocahontas in Disneyland is Mickey and the Magical Map. This show takes place in the Fantasyland Theatre, which is located adjacent to It’s a Small World.
IS THERE A POCAHONTAS RIDE AT DISNEY
Disneyland does not have any specific Pocahontas rides.
IS THERE A POCAHONTAS MEET & GREET IN DISNEYLAND
No but as mentioned you can see her via Mickey and the Magical Map.
Mickey and the Magical Map features Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer’s apprentice and takes visitors on a musical journey that incorporates several well-known Disney characters, many of whom you would not encounter at the park.
Characters:
- King Louie
- Pocahontas
- Mulan
- Rapunzel and Flynn Rider

WHO IS POCAHONTAS?
Pocahontas is a 1995 American animated musical drama film released by Walt Disney Animation Studios. It is directed by Mike Gabriel and Eric Goldberg.
The thirty-third Disney animated feature film, the film is based on the life of the Native American woman Pocahontas. She is portrayed by Irene Bedard. The voice cast features Mel Gibson as John Smith, Christian Bale as Thomas, Billy Connolly as Ratcliffe, Gary Dourdan as Nakoma, David Ogden Stiers as Governor Ratcliffe, Russell Means as Powhatan, Jim Cummings as Wiggins, Linda Hunt as Grandmother Willow, and Frank Welker as Meeko.
Pocahontas was released to theaters on June 23, 1995, to generally positive reviews from critics and was a commercial success. The movie grossed over $346 million worldwide in its theatrical release.
The movie is set in the early 17th century in the Chesapeake Bay area of present-day Virginia. Pocahontas, the daughter of Powhatan chief Wahunsonacock (“Chief”), is shown living with her tribe near their village of Werowocomoco.
While playing outside with her best friend Nakoma one morning near the river’s edge, Pocahontas notices a strange ship approaching. As it comes closer, she sees that it is captained by John Smith, a British adventurer leading an exploratory mission for England’s King James I.
When Smith and his men come ashore, they are captured by Powhatan’s warriors. They are brought before Wahunsonacock to answer for their trespassing into Powhatan territory without permission.
Instead of executing them, however, Wahunsonacock decides to adopt Smith into his tribe. He gives him the name “Nawagi” (“meaning ‘trusted one'”).
As time passes, Pocahontas grows more fond of John Smith. One day, while out exploring the woods, she stumbles upon him being attacked by her father’s warriors.
She quickly intervenes and saves his life before he is able to be pulled away by his captors. A short time later, Pocahontas visits Angdingiouenon (“The Great Spirit”). She does so at Grandmother Willow’s request in hopes of gaining guidance about her feelings for John Smith. Angdingiouenon tells Pocahontas that she must follow her heart before disappearing into the forest once again.
Despite their different upbringings and cultures, Pocahontas and John Smith eventually fall in love with each other. However, they are soon forced apart when news reaches Werowocomoco that English skirmishes with Powhatan’s neighboring tribes have left several dead on both sides.
At Chief Powhatan’s request, John Smith returns to Jamestown with a peace treaty. Upon arrival, he is immediately arrested by Governor Ratcliffe. He believes he has come to harm the colonists so that Powhatan can more easily overrun them.
Pocahontas Looks for John Smith
With help from Nakoma, Pocahontas sets out to find John Smith in order to warn him about Ratcliffe’s treachery. She ends up being captured along with him when they accidentally wander into one of Ratcliffe’s traps set for Powhatan’s warriors along the way.
Back at Jamestown, Ratcliffe throws both Pocahontas and John Smith into prison. He intends to kill them at dawn so that all blame will fall on Powhatan when he subsequently attacks Jamestown in retaliation for their deaths, leaving it ripe for takeover by the Englishmen under Ratcliffe’s command.
Though I could tell you the entire story, I want you to check out the Pocahontas movie instead!
Pocahontas is a fan favorite and for a good reason. She’s strong, independent, and embodies the spirit of adventure that we all hope to find in our Disney experiences. If you haven’t had a chance to see her yet, be sure to add her to your list of must-dos the next time you visit Disney.
