Going to Disney World as a couple is all about affection and possibly displaying that affection. We have all seen the couple who have matching Mickey and Minnie shirts and ears. If this is the type of couple you are, there will be plenty of opportunities to buy your matching apparel at most gift stores or online.
Upon arrival at either your resort or theme park, you may go to guest relations and request buttons to help celebrate whatever event you wish. These buttons do bring you attention because they are supposed to be worn on top of your clothes.
Each cast member is trained to acknowledge your buttons and try to make your experience more magical than it already is. They call this making magic. These workers are looking to make your time here more enjoyable. So if you are not used to people being nice, you better get used to it.

Resorts
I highly recommend you stay at one of the many resorts that Disney World has to offer. Disney World has over 25 resorts to choose from to meet your romantic desire. According to Disney Fanatic, the top 5 most romantic resorts include Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, Port Orleans Riverside Resort/Port Orleans French Quarter, and Polynesian. All these resorts have an elegance to them above the others that sets them in the moderate or deluxe classification, perfect for your Disney World for couples trip.
If you are celebrating a special event such as a honeymoon make sure you tell your resort in advance and they will make appropriate accommodations to have your room prepared in a honeymoon style way.
So let’s take a gander at the most romantic resorts at Disney World. Transport yourself into the mid-pacific once you set foot onto the grounds of Polynesian Village Resort. Here you can cuddle your significant other on a hammock and watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom.
At the Port Orleans Resort and Wilderness Lodge you and your loved one can enjoy a carriage ride on the property of the resort. This carriage ride takes approximately 30 minutes and is a fairy tale romantic excursion for the sweethearts. Another romantic event at one of the resorts is a midnight stroll through the Savannah at Animal Kingdom Lodge with your love. This stroll will allow you to see the animals underneath the moonlight.
If you’re staying at the Grand Floridian you can indulge in the spa treatment and feel relaxed with your partner. Each resort has their own style and flair that goes along with the theme of the name. It does not really matter what resort you choose but just know that the more you pay the better and more worth the experience will be.
At almost every resort there is an opportunity to watch a Disney movie underneath the stars. So if you enjoy movies with a loved one make sure you ask guest relations when the shows are.
Keep in mind, no matter what resort you are staying at, you will find magical moments with your love. Let your heart run free.
Dining
When looking into being romantic, dining should be near the top of your list. Luckily for you, there are many different choices at Disney World. No matter where you are staying you can make reservations at any restaurant on Disney World property. The resorts have fantastic dining options as well as the theme parks.
The most romantic of all the dining options at Disney World would have to be Victoria & Albert’s. This restaurant is located in the elegant Grand Floridian. Here at Victoria & Albert’s, many people get popped the question. So don’t be surprised to witness or even plan your own proposal. According to TripAdvisor, it is considered one of the two best restaurants in America. This is fine dining in a Victorian setting.
An elegant restaurant at Walt Disney World is the California Grill. Located at the Contemporary Resort, this restaurant is fine dining and a great spot to overlook the firework display if dining at night. The great food along with fine cocktails is a terrific restaurant to indulge in the finest of California cuisine.
Another hopeful dining experience for couples is Be Our Guest in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. This recent addition to the Magic Kingdom in 2012 is the perfect dining experience If you’re a Beauty and the Beast fan, it’s a must. The theme of the restaurant makes you feel as if you were in the movie. Also, make sure you try the grey stuff (it’s delicious).
Disney World Parks for Couples
Step into Disney’s Hollywood Studios and find yourself placed back in time during the 50’s and 60’s. The Sci-Fi Dine-In is the perfect spot to sit close to your partner just like your grandparents did. The theme of the restaurant is the 1950’s and 60’s drive-in movie theater. Not only will you enjoy an early Sci-Fi classic film but also good food and company.
With the new Toy Story Land, Hollywood Studios has leveled up.
When it comes to hitting the parks there is so much to experience as a couple. Disney World for couples hits a high point when it’s time to hold hands while strolling down Main Street. Main Street is the walkway in the Magic Kingdom that leads all the way to Cinderella’s castle. Take in all the smells. It includes popcorn, candy, cotton candy, and so much more. There is nothing like it. They say smells can take you back and why not let your senses transport you to your childlike self and feel the magic take hold.
Take your time as you walk past gift shops, candy stores, and restaurants and finally you have arrived right in front of Cinderella’s castle. Suddenly, you hear Sebastian (from The Little Mermaid) whisper, “Go on and kiss the girl!” So you pucker up and slop it on her and fireworks illuminate all around. That is romance! That is what the Disney spirit is all about.
After you have experienced all you want to at Magic Kingdom, go check out Epcot. Epcot is probably the best park for couples to spend quality time. With over 11 countries in the theme park, there is so much to see. A favorite activity to participate in at Epcot is to drink around the world. There are various specialty drinks at each country and all need to be tried. However, be careful because the cost of drinks and food can add up and next thing you know, you’re drunk.
Sometimes at Epcot, there are concerts held in the American pavilion at the amphitheater. Various artists perform here throughout the year and it is a great place to catch live music. Artists from Boyz II Men and Smash Mouth have all played in the park.
There is one place I highly recommend sharing a tasty treat with your sweetheart to be something special about having a sweet treat to share with your significant other and I know just the place to get one. In the France pavilion of Epcot, there is a place that’s called Les Halles and you must try the macaroons.
Disney Entertainment for Couples
If you are looking for nightlife at Disney World, you can definitely find it here.
I highly recommend heading to Disney Springs to enjoy in the dancing and cocktails. There is live music at almost every restaurant that has a microphone and amplifier.
Disney Springs stays open late for the thrill seeker. My favorite spot at Disney Springs would have to be Splitsville. Splitsville is the perfect spot for drinks and bowling. This atmosphere takes you away from the busyness of the day and reflects upon your vacation.
Shopping is also a big attraction at Disney Springs. There are many shops to choose from and not all are Disney themed if you are trying to get away from the Walt Disney feel for a while.
Another hoping spot is the Boardwalk that is located behind the Boardwalk Inn Resort. This Boardwalk has restaurants, bars, and shops that make you feel transported to old-time Atlantic City New Jersey times.
One of my favorite bars on the Disney property would have to be Jellyrolls. This bar is for 21 and up and the music is phenomenal, especially for the piano lover. The atmosphere is dark and lively with two pianos sitting center stage. You can make requests and enjoy your favorite tunes.
If it is your first time at Disney World I highly recommend hitting all the main attractions, however, make sure you have time for these romantic activities.
What is a trip without pictures? You need to capture the moment with pictures of you and your sweetheart. There are many opportunities to capture photos with Disney characters or Disney scenery. From pictures with Mickey and Minnie in Magic Kingdom or with Chip and Dale at the Animal Kingdom, the possibilities are endless. You can take the pictures yourselves or a cast member who is paid to take photos can capture the moment for you.
Make sure you snuggle up on every ride and be prepared for the photos that will be taken on the ride. These photos can be kept forever and remembered for the ages. A ride I highly recommend snuggling up on is It’s a Small World. This ride is a slow and deranged and you might need your special someone to keep you sane.
This might seem like a lot of information for a Disney World for couples trip. That is why I’m going to sum up everything I just mentioned so you as a couple can enjoy your time the most. Disney World for Couples Tips.
First, let your inner kid take over. Life is too short to care what others think. You should only care what your significant other thinks and what benefits you as a couple. So, if this means having matching shirts, then do it. If meeting Mickey Mouse makes you happy, then by gosh, do it.
Secondly, stay at a resort. Your Disney experience will be more enjoyable while staying on Disney property. The magic follows you all the way to the bedroom.
Leave some time to relax at the resort as well. I love time at the hot tub, drinks by the pool and sleeping in.
Thirdly, eat fancy. Take the time and money to splurge on a nice dinner because you deserve it. Food helps strengthen relationships.
Fourthly, drink/eat around the world at Epcot. Enjoy the different cultures at Epcot.
Next, go to Disney Springs. Experience the nightlife that Disney has to offer. Disney Springs has shopping, restaurants, and good drinks.
Lastly, Kiss in front of Cinderella’s castle. This is probably the most iconic romantic thing to do at Disney World. You HAVE to do it.
In summary, have fun and enjoy the magical experience with your partner. Disney World for couples creates memories to cherish for the rest of your life.

I love this list of couple-friendly things at Disney! I’d go with my husband every year if I could. We’re looking at trying out the efficiency studio at Riviera this year, do you have an opinion on this room? It’s kind of in a class of its own, but the design and availability of the Skyliner pushes it over the edge for me. Our favorite place to go sans-kids is Raglan Road, for the atmosphere and to enjoy a few pints. 😊 – Lindsey
