The Transportation and Ticket Center at Walt Disney World (TTC) is a significant location in the World. TTC is a common spot for nearly all Disney World visitors, whether you are parking your car for a day at Magic Kingdom, traveling to Epcot, or going over to the Monorail loop Resorts on your way to another resort.
What is the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC)
The Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) is the entrance to Magic Kingdom before guests use the ferry or monorail transportation.
The TTC is located at the Magic Kingdom theme park and where guests can purchase their tickets for park admission.
The TTC is divided into three main sections: the Monorail Station, The Ferry Boat Launch, and the Ticketing Booths.
The Monorail Station is where guests board the monorail to travel to Magic Kingdom or other Disney World parks and resorts.
The Ferry Boat Launch is where guests board the ferry to travel to Magic Kingdom.
The Ticketing Booths are where guests purchase their tickets for admission to the Magic Kingdom.
Where is the Disney Ticket and Transportation Center
The transportation and ticket center is located at the Magic Kingdom theme park.
The best way to get to the transportation and ticket center is by taking the monorail from your Disney resort.
If you are staying at a Disney resort on the Monorail loop, you can simply hop on the monorail and ride it to the transportation and ticket center.
If you stay at a Disney resort, not on the Monorail loop, you will need to take a bus to the transportation and ticket center.
The transportation and ticket center is also accessible by car, but guests must pay to park in the parking lot.
Where is the Magic Kingdom Transportation Center?
Getting to the Magic Kingdom Park is a multi-step process when arriving
by car (private or ride-share).
Step 1 is to get to the parking lot directly connected to the transportation center.
Step 2 is to get on the monorail or ferry to the actual park.
The location of the Magic Kingdom transportation center is after the parking lot and before any other transportation that leads to the parks.
What transportation options are available at TTC?
There are three transportation options available at TTC: monorail, ferry boat, and ride share.
- Monorail: The monorail transportation system runs from the TTC to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and various Disney resorts.
- Ferry Boat: The ferry transportation system runs from the TTC to Magic Kingdom.
- Ride Share: Guests can use ride share services such as Uber or Lyft to get to and from the TTC. Once at the TTC, guests can use one of the other transportation options to get to their desired location.
Using these transportation methods, you can go to the Magic Kingdom theme park, Disney Springs, your Disney Resort, or the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC).
Finally, there is a fourth option to reach the Magic Kingdom from the Transportation and Ticket Center. Disney will occasionally operate a bus that goes straight from the TTC to Magic Kingdom during peak hours.
Use this transportation mode at your own risk, as it doesn’t run on a regular schedule. Before making the walk to find it, ask a cast member if the bus is running.
Does Disney Ticket and Transportation Center have parking?
Yes, the TTC has a parking lot that is connected to it.
The parking lot is meant for guests visiting the Magic Kingdom, but anyone can pay to park in the lot.
If driving to Magic Kingdom, you must park in the Magic Kingdom parking lot and pay the daily parking fee.
Guests staying at Disney resorts taking Disney transportation, whether the monorail or a Disney bus, will be dropped off at the park and not at the TTC.
What time does Disney TTC open?
Disney Resorts Collection hotel guests can access the Theme Park 30 minutes early, so the monorails should be running by 8:00 am. That means the Transportation and Ticket Center should also be open around that time.
What to Expect at the Transportation and Ticket Center First Thing in the Morning
Get to Magic Kingdom as soon as possible if you want to spend the most time there. If you’re driving or staying off property (or at select on-property hotels), that means dealing with the Transportation and Ticket Center in the morning. Here’s what to anticipate on a typical Magic Kingdom morning at the Transportation and Ticket Center.
- You can begin parking typically one hour before the park’s published opening time.
- Parking Trams are currently running.
- The Express Monorail to Magic Kingdom usually has a longer line than the Ferry Boat.
- The Express Monorail can often have a wrap-around queue first thing in the morning.
- The line for a temperature and security check might be long first thing in the morning.
- Joffrey’s Coffee and Tea is open for grab-and-go coffee and pastries.
You’ll need one hour before the park opens to rope drop at the Magic Kingdom or any other park. The parking toll plazas generally open approximately an hour before the gates open, allowing visitors to park and begin their arrival experience at the park.
When you reach the Transportation and Ticket Center, you will go through a temperature check and then have your bags checked. Although new procedures have made this process quicker, there are usually still lines in the morning.
The Transportation and Ticket Center is 1.5 miles from the Magic Kingdom. The Express Monorail goes straight to the Magic Kingdom, but the Ferry Boat is just as quick and more pleasant.
The Express Monorail usually has a long line first thing in the morning. Even though it feels like the monorail moves faster than the Ferry Boat while you’re waiting for the boat, it generally takes about the same time to use either transportation method.
How long does it take to get from TTC to Magic Kingdom?
It takes approximately 10-25 minutes to get from the TTC to Magic Kingdom, depending on your transportation method and the time of day.
The monorail is faster, but it usually has a longer line meaning the Ferry boat is fast in the morning and a much nicer ride.
You should also consider how much time it will take to park and get to the TTC.
Where Can I Find Disney World Magic Kingdom Parking?
The only parking place for the Magic Kingdom is at the transportation and ticket center. From there, you can take the monorail or ferry boat over to the park.
If driving to Magic Kingdom, you must park in the Magic Kingdom parking lot and pay the daily parking fee.
Guests staying at Disney resorts taking Disney transportation, whether the monorail or a Disney bus, will be dropped off at the park and not at the TTC.
Is there transportation from my hotel to Magic Kingdom?
If you are staying at a Disney resort hotel, complimentary transportation is available to take you from your hotel to Magic Kingdom. You can take the bus, the monorail, or a boat depending on what resort you are at.
The bus is typically the slowest transportation option, but it runs frequently.
The monorail is usually the quickest transportation option, but there can often be a long line to get on in the morning.
The boat is typically quicker than the bus, and there is usually no line, making it a good option if you want to avoid crowds.
What Else Happens at the Disney World Transportation and Ticket Center?
The transportation and ticket center is also home to a few other things:
Joffrey’s Coffee and Tea is open for grab-and-go coffee and pastries in the morning. This is a good option if you want breakfast but don’t want to eat at your hotel or in the park.
The Transportation and Ticket Center at Disney World serves as a transportation hub for EPCOT visitors. While EPCOT has its own parking lot that allows automobile access, all monorail connections to EPCOT begin and end at the Disney World Transportation and Ticket Center.
To get to EPCOT from any Magic Kingdom resorts, such as the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, or Bay Lake Towers, you must first take the resort monorail.
Get off the monorail at TTC, then walk down the ramp and get in line for the EPCOT monorail. The EPCOT monorail doesn’t stop at any of the resorts, it goes directly from Walt Disney World Transportation and Ticket Center to EPCOT.
If you intend to visit EPCOT solely and are driving, it would be more logical to park in EPCOT’s parking lot instead of the TTC. On the other hand, if your goal for the day is to visit both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT parks, it would make sense to take advantage of the monorails that access both parks at TTC.
The Disney World transportation information center is located here, and cast members can help you with any transportation questions you have.
You can also buy park tickets here if you don’t have them already.
Security Checks at the TTC
All visitors must go through a security check at the transportation and ticket center. This process involves walking through a machine similar to those at the airport. This means you will go through a security check and bag check before boarding the ferry or monorail.
Once you get to the actual park, you can walk right up to the ticket check and into the fun.
Purchasing Tickets at the Transportation and Ticket Center
The Walt Disney World Transportation and Ticket Center is aptly named. Not only does it provide transportation, but you can also take care of all your ticketing needs here.
The TTC often employs more cast members to help with ticket purchases and any related issues than the parks do, meaning shorter lines and a quicker start to your fun.
This is especially useful for day visitors who arrive at the Magic Kingdom from an offsite resort or elsewhere, as they may proceed directly to the turnstiles upon arrival.
What are the ticket options available at TTC?
All ticket options are available for purchase at the TTC. This includes:
Passes for any number of days and the add-on options such as Park Hopper and Water Park & More.
Taxis and the Walt Disney World Transportation and Ticket Center
The TTC is the only place to park for Magic Kingdom, so if you’re driving to the park, this is where you’ll need to go.
The transportation and ticket center is a large, busy place, so it’s important to know where things are before you arrive. By familiarizing yourself with the layout of the TTC, you can make your visit as smooth and stress-free as possible.
The transportation and ticket center is home to a few different transportation options: the monorail, the ferry boat, and buses. There is also a taxi stand if you’re taking a taxi to or from the park.
When facing the TTC with the parking lot at your back, the taxi stand is to the right past the TTC.
Uber and Lyft at the Walt Disney World Transportation and Ticket Center
You can also use Uber or Lyft to get to the transportation and ticket center. There is a designated area for these ride-sharing services, which is located in the parking lot.
To find the pick-up location, follow the signs for “Ride Services” in the parking lot. The pick-up area is clearly marked and easy to walk to.
How to get to Disney Springs from the Transportation and Ticket Center
Disney Springs is accessible via bus from the Magic Kingdom area. However, the bus is not at the TTC.
Use the monorail or ferry from the TTC to go to Magic Kingdom park. When you get to the park, don’t go in. Pass Magic Kingdom on your left and keep walking to the resort bus area.
Check the big bus signs for the one labeled Disney Springs.
The Ticket and Transportation Center, or TTC, is a Magic Kingdom hub with many purposes. Hopefully, with this post, I have helped you feel a bit more comfortable with the TTC and whatever help it’s meant to provide you.
