Cheap Disneyland Tickets Guide 101

Everybody is looking for cheap Disneyland tickets. And honestly, everyone claims to know the best ones!

But do they really? Probably not. Do not worry, though! I know the who, what, when, where, and how to get the real deals.

Here is a comprehensive guide to cheap Disneyland tickets, where to find them, how to get them, and which are the best.

Cheap Disneyland Tickets Via GetAwayToday:

The original, official cheap Disneyland ticket provider is GetAwayToday.  Truly an awesome place to get cheap theme park tickets,

Get Away Today offers awesome discounts on tons of theme park locations. They also allow you to add other options to your tickets, which can be so helpful with such a big discount!

Warning

You should be warned. Some places that claim to sell Disneyland tickets at a low price are fraudulent. Sometimes even these places sell real tickets, but you will need to pay full price at the front gate of the park anyway.

You may even be forced to wait in a long line at the ticket booth when your front gate tickets do not work. It is important to be cautious. Do not fret. We have done the research for you. These places listed below are legit.

Disneyland Overview

Disney’s California Adventure Park and Disneyland Park are the Happiest Places on Earth. Disneyland Park is also considered “Walt’s Park” because it was the only Disney park that he personally had a hand in building.

Yes, every other Disney park is based on his work, but Disneyland was the only park he lived to see completed and, therefore, had the final say in. Of course, everybody wants to go there.

Unfortunately, the prices for tickets are completely and utterly outrageous! Luckily, there are some places where you can get real, discounted tickets to Disneyland Resort—which includes Disneyland Park, Disney’s California Adventure Park, the Downtown Disney District, the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, and the Disneyland Hotel.

How Can I Get Cheap Disneyland Tickets?

Disneyland Website and Ticket Booth

Probably the most obvious resource for purchasing tickets is Disneyland itself. They may not always be discounted, but if you do your research by planning your trip on a less-crowded day or calling ahead of time. You may find out about a special offer that was not highly broadcasted.

If you’re uninterested in doing all the leg, have a travel agent like myself do it for free.

But it’s true, the best way to know where and how to get these discounts is through a Disney travel agent.

If you want more information about Disney travel agents, I wrote the ultimate guide about all things regarding Disney travel agents, and you can find it here.

The Disneyland website is also guaranteed to give you real tickets. It is the most trustworthy place to get your park tickets, more than anywhere else on the web.

You can also try purchasing your tickets at the ticket booth on the day of. This is beneficial if you are a Southern California resident or have any questions you would need to ask a cast member in person.

The main issue with this route of getting tickets, though, is that you will for sure pay full price, you may need to wait in a long line, and you are subject to park capacity availability. If you are trying to buy tickets on the day of your trip and the park is full, you may not be able to enter the park.

Undercover Tourist

Undercover Tourist is one of the best sources of cheap Disneyland tickets on the web. They sometimes also include hotel discounts and rental cars. Not only that, but they also have their own blog full of useful vacation tips, an accurate crowd calendar available for tons of theme parks (not just Disney Parks!), tips for first-timers/ families / and everything you can think of.

Their tickets come at a major discount and are 100% authentic. Most of the time, you can bypass the ticket booths entirely and take your Undercover Tourist tickets straight to the front gate of the park and go right inside.

Your super inexpensive tickets are shipped to your address for free in a safe and timely manner. If you need your tickets right away, Undercover Tourist can also provide next-day delivery or same-day pickup.

And if you change your mind, Undercover Tourist has a 90-day Refund or Return Policy for you to utilize if you need to. No hassle! No hidden fees or expenses! Just magic, fun, and discounts!

Why Undercover Tourist

Undercover Tourist started their company in 2000, so you know they have stood the test of time and have grown into an extremely helpful resource for everybody planning their next theme park family vacation.

Well, actually, they can help you with tons of different family vacations, not just those involving Disney or theme parks. These vacations include but are not limited to ski resorts, national parks, and more.

They also provide huge savings on a list of family-friendly hotels, dinner shows, and other attractions throughout the entire United States of America!

Cheap Disneyland Tickets

CityPASS

CityPASS is a little different than Get Away Today or Undercover Tourist. Unlike any other discount ticket site, CityPASS offers package deals for multiple attractions at a time in Southern California.

This means that you select a discounted package that includes multiple attractions and/or theme parks that you would like to visit during your vacation.

These options include Disneyland, Universal Studios Hollywood, SeaWorld San Diego, LEGOLAND, and the San Diego Zoo.

The initial total for these packages may be more expensive overall than cheap Disneyland tickets, but when you have so many things you can do, it can be worth it.

I recommend doing your research based on what you would like to experience in Southern California, how long your trip will be, and what your budget is. Decide if CityPASS is right for you.

Military Discounts:

Active duty, Reserve, National Guard, Retired, and DOD employees are eligible for discount tickets. You can speak to your base MWR for information.

In my personal experience, I have heard and seen that military discounts are usually the best you can possibly get.

Of course, I still recommend that you do as much research as possible before purchasing anything. However, as I said, if you get a military discount, then it is probably the best one out there.

The Walt Disney Company and I really appreciate your service to the country, and that means you get a nice reward with the best discounted Disneyland tickets.

Employee Discounts:

Some companies collaborate with theme parks to give their employees special discounts. This includes California school teachers, some accountants, other “office jobs,” and many more.

If you are interested, then speak with your Human Resources department to see if this applies to you. The main issue with these options is that you likely will not get discounts on annual pass options if you are interested in them.

However, every company and every deal is different. So, it is important to do your own research to see which is best for you.

In my personal experience, employee (and military) discounts have bested the traditional online discounts from other locations by far. So, if you get discounts with your company, look into that first before you buy anything anywhere else.

Costco, Ralph’s, Vons:

Occasionally, some stores like Costco, Ralph’s, and Vons offer discount tickets to Disneyland for their members.

These deals can be hit and miss. If you are a member of any of these places and have time to plan before your vacation, I recommend checking back on their website/websites every day.

Wait until you absolutely have to book your vacation to see if you can get a sweet discount. If not, though, there are all these other great options that I already listed above that will work just as well, if not better.

AAA and CSAA:

Also, members of AAA and CSAA automobile clubs sometimes get discounts too. For these tickets, though, I advise that you do your research to ensure that you are actually getting a discount before purchasing.

Sometimes these tickets can be advertised as discounted when they are actually full price. Obviously, you do not want to get stuck paying full price when you thought you were getting a good deal.

I advise you to shop around everywhere and see where the real, best deals are. If these tickets do not work out for you, another discounted ticket location—like those listed above—will. Do not worry, I have you covered!

University Students:

Going to college is so expensive these days, and so is living in California. Luckily for California students, Disneyland might help you out.

There are a few perks to going to school in California, including discount Disneyland tickets!

They are limited to one park per day, but it is better than nothing! Check with your student union to see if your university offers these discounted rates on Disney Park tickets.

Comparison of Disneyland Ticket Options

Disneyland offers a variety of ticket options to suit different budgets and preferences.

The most popular ticket option is the 1-Day Park Hopper Ticket, which allows guests to visit both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park on the same day.

Another popular option is the 2-Day Park Hopper Ticket, which gives guests more time to explore both parks.

Other ticket options include the 1-Day, 1-Park Ticket, which allows guests to visit either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park for one day, and the multi-day tickets, which offer discounts for longer visits.

Additionally, Disneyland offers special tickets for Southern California residents and military personnel, as well as annual passes for frequent visitors.

It’s important to compare the different ticket options and prices to find the best fit for your needs and budget.

Disneyland Hidden Costs

When planning a trip to Disneyland, it’s important to remember that the tickets are just the beginning of the expenses.

There are many hidden costs that can add up quickly and catch you off guard.

For example, parking fees, food and drinks, souvenirs. Even stroller rentals can all significantly increase the total cost of your trip.

In order to minimize these expenses, it’s a good idea to plan ahead and budget accordingly. You can bring your own snacks and drinks to avoid buying them inside the park. Consider eating outside the park where prices tend to be more reasonable.

Another option is to purchase souvenirs before your trip. You can also set a limit on how much you’re willing to spend on them.

By being mindful of these additional costs and taking steps to minimize them, you can ensure that your trip to Disneyland is both enjoyable and affordable.

Disneyland is the first “theme park”

The phrase “theme park” was coined by Walt Disney himself when he thought of the idea of Disneyland. It was the first place where both kids and adults alike could come and have fun together as a family.

Today, millions and millions of guests visit Disneyland Park, Disney’s California Adventure Park, resort hotels, and the Downtown Disney District every year.

Disneyland Park is the second most-visited theme park in the entire world—second only to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida. And that is for a good reason! I mean, it is the Happiest Place on Earth, is it not?

While riding Big Thunder Mountain, meeting your favorite Disney Princess, getting a makeover at the Bippity Boppity Boutique, seeing the faces of your family members and friends as they experience the joy of their favorite ride, meeting their favorite character, watching the fireworks show or Fantasmic! for the first time, you really know where Disneyland got its famous tagline.

The Disneyland Resort may really be the Happiest Place on Earth, but visiting the park is not cheap, that is for sure!

At first glance, Disneyland tickets at a discount may seem pretty hard to come by, but with all these above-listed options, you are bound to find a great rate for cheap Disneyland tickets (and maybe even hotels, flights, car rentals, other parks and attractions, and more) that is right for you and your party! I have tons more tips on saving money at Disney.

I also have a whole article dedicated to Disneyland Strollers. And I even wrote about the best Disney World tips as well. Be sure to check them out!
