Where are the standard rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge?

Most rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge are standard rooms with one king or two queen beds. Families with young children can also request a room with a queen bed and a bunk bed. The standard rooms are subdivided by their view.

The standard view rooms fall into the entry-level category and overlook the parking lot. The pool view rooms (you guessed it) overlook the pool but have no view of the savannah. Savannah view rooms are the most expensive and popular hotel option. From the Savanna View rooms, you can see wildlife roaming the gardens at any time. For some travelers, this is an invaluable feature, for others, it is a no-frills upgrade, given that the hotel has dozens of communal wildlife viewing terraces throughout the city.

Like the other Disney’s deluxe hotels, the Animal Kingdom Lodge has a private Club level. Club-level rooms provide access to a private lounge serving continental breakfast, snacks, and drinks throughout the day. Club-level guests also benefit from personal check-in and concierge services, which can be a particularly nice perk, given the hotel’s long reception lines. In addition to the standard rooms, the Club level also offers one- and two-bedroom suites.

Rooms

The rooms come with wardrobes that are fitted with ironing equipment and a lockable safe. They also feature bathrooms with classic Disney design – sinks and vanities in one room, shower/tub combos, and toilets in another – and the decor is gorgeous. The custom wallpaper here represents some of the most important places in Africa, like Mt. Kilimanjaro, Victoria Falls, and Ngorongoro Crater. Beige granite and double sinks act as a nice touch to the decor.

However, the toiletries provided are standard Disney products. All AKL rooms have furnished balconies, many of which face one of the property’s four sheets (although some have views of the parking lot).

Has Animal Kingdom Lodge Been Renovated?

Animal Kingdom Lodge has renovated its rooms in 2020 and some common areas in 2021.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is constantly updated with new features and amenities to make your stay more magical.

What I Love About Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Studio

There are many reasons to love the Animal Kingdom Lodge studios. They’re spacious, have a kitchenette and private balcony, and are close to the theme parks.

But, here are a few of my favorite things about staying in a studio at the lodge:

The beds are comfortable, and there’s plenty of space to move around.

The kitchenette is fully stocked with everything you need to make meals, including a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker.

The private balcony is perfect for relaxing after a long park day. Not to mention the theme of the rooms is stunning.

Plus, you can enjoy beautiful views of the savanna from your room.

The studios at Animal Kingdom Lodge are some of the best rooms at any Disney World resort.

Tips for Staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Studio

Here are a few tips for those of you planning to stay in a studio at the lodge:

Request a room overlooking the savanna. You’ll be able to see animals from your room, and the views are simply beautiful.

If you have young children, request a pack-and-play crib. They’re free of charge and will be delivered to your room before you arrive.

If you plan on cooking meals in your room, stop by a grocery store before you head to the lodge. There’s a small convenience store at the lodge, but it’s more expensive than a grocery store.

Check-in for your room is at 3:00 pm, but you can arrive as early as 10:00 am to drop off your luggage.

If you have a MagicBand, you can link it to your room key and use it to enter the park and access reservations.

To save time, you can check in online before you arrive at the lodge.
