Rise of the Resistance Motion Sickness
Anyone who has ridden a roller coaster knows that the sudden twists and turns can sometimes lead to an uneasy feeling in the stomach.
For some people, this feeling of nausea can be so strong that it leads to vomiting.
Though Rise of the Resistance is not a roller coaster, the movements are intense. However, from the mouths of those who suffer from motion sickness, this ride does not initiate motion sickness. However, the ride is intense and can cause motion sickness in even the most experienced of riders. For those who are prone to nausea, it is important to take precautions before boarding Rise of the Resistance.
When your board the first transport ship, lean against something and focus on the screens. This is going to help alleviate most of the motion sickness because it will remove the extra feeling of motion
Once you get on the ride vehicles you will see that the experience is smooth and quick.

Many people who have experienced Rise of the Resistance wonder if it is a motion simulator ride. The answer is complicated because there are elements of both in the ride. Rise of the Resistance does use a track system similar to that of a traditional roller coaster, but not as intense. A
nd while there are some simulations of movement, such as when guests are blasted by wind or jostled by creatures, much of the ride is static. In many ways, this ride feels more like an immersive theater experience than a traditional park ride. So whether you consider it a motion simulator or not is up to you.
Rise of the Resistance Ride Drop
One of the most popular ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is this ride. This highly anticipated attraction features a trackless ride system that simulates the experience of being aboard a First Order Star Destroyer. The ride consists of several different scenes, each with its own unique challenges and surprises.
One of the highlights is the “ride drop”, which takes place during the final battle scene. As riders face off against Stormtroopers, they suddenly drop around 10-20 feet, giving them a sense of weightlessness as they continue to fight their way to safety.
The Rise of the Resistance ride is sure to be a hit with guests of all ages, and it’s just one more reason to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Though the final drop on Rise of the Resistance is between 10 and 20 feet, though because of special effects it can feel like more.
I have heard this drop compared to the Tower or Terror because it is also a straight down drop, but not anywhere near as high. 20 feet isn’t huge, but it isn’t small either so keep this all in mind when thinking of bringing little ones or dealing with motion sickness.

I did so much preparation work for this ride. Back in 2014, I watched the first 6 Star War movies with little to no attention span. So I did it again just so I could understand Rise of the Resistance ride and have a lot of fun.
10/10 it was worth all of the work and the wait. We did this ride as soon as we walked into Hollywood Studios. I can’t even remember the point in time that I got off of the queue and onto the ride. Not being a huge fan of roller coasters, I don’t like drops at all, and this was all good for me.
I would ride Rise of the resistance over and over again.
