– Take the NJ Turnpike South and continue onto I-95 South.

– Continue driving and aim to reach Richmond, VA by evening (around 6:00 PM).

– Check into a hotel/motel for the night, have dinner and get a good night’s rest.

Day 2:

– Start driving South around 7:00 AM after breakfast.

We also brought pillows and blankets for the back seat and passenger seat, Cards Against Humanity (game), napkins, and a bag for garbage.

If your destination is further south, Day 4:

– Start driving towards your final destination, such as Miami or Key West.

The ride home was tough as you don’t have the motivation of Disney ahead of you.  Instead, if you are anything like me, you have your day job ahead. 

It’s time to decide whether driving to Disney is for you or not.  If you haven’t taken the drive before and have a fair number of adults on the trip, I would try it. 

You can never disqualify something you aren’t familiar with.  As someone who has done the drive many times, I know it comes down to flight prices, allotted time, and mental capacity. 

If flights are under $100 each way, I am most likely driving as we are a family of two right now.  That might change in the future.
