An Airbnb and Disney World don’t usually exist in the same train of thought. While they may not seem like they go hand in hand when you’re on a budget, an AirBnB at Disney World might be exactly what you need.
Having an amazing vacation while staying frugal is possible. Check out how an Airbnb can get you to the Disney vacation of your dreams!
It’s no secret that Disney is expensive.
Your childhood dreams of play and fantasy don’t come cheap. Everything from parking your vehicle to transportation costs money. Add in the park entry tickets and the food inside and you’re already spending hundreds of dollars a day. Then there’s the fast passes, resorts, and souvenirs.
You can easily spend thousands of dollars in one weekend if you don’t track your spending and keep a tight leash on your wallet.
AirBnB Disney Accomdations
If you’re planning a visit to Disney World, you might be wondering about your accommodation options.
While there are certainly plenty of hotels in the area, you might also want to consider the benefits of staying in an Airbnb.
One of the biggest advantages of choosing an Airbnb is the increased space and privacy. You’ll have access to an entire apartment or house, which means you can spread out and relax in a way that’s simply not possible in a hotel room.
Additionally, Airbnb options are often more affordable than traditional hotels, which can help you save money on your vacation overall.
It is worth exploring the various Airbnb options available near Disney World to find the perfect place to stay for your trip.
Locations to Use for AirBnB Disney
When it comes to finding Airbnb options near Disney World, visitors have several options to choose from. Some of the popular areas where visitors can find Airbnb properties include Kissimmee, Celebration, and Lake Buena Vista.
Kissimmee is an ideal location for those who want to stay close to Disney World but also want to explore other attractions in the area. It is located just a few miles away from the theme parks and offers easy access to other popular destinations like Universal Studios and SeaWorld.
Celebration is a charming community located just a few minutes away from Disney World. It is a great option for visitors who want a quiet and peaceful place to stay while still being close to all the action.
Lake Buena Vista is another popular area for Airbnb rentals. It is the closest area to Disney World, with many properties located just a few minutes away from the theme parks. Visitors can also find a variety of restaurants, shops, and entertainment options in the area.
AirBnB Disney World Options
When it comes to Airbnb options, there are several types of properties you can choose from. These include apartments, condos, townhouses, and single-family homes. Each type of property has its own unique characteristics and amenities.
Apartments are typically smaller and more budget-friendly, making them a great option for solo travelers or couples.
Condos are similar to apartments, but they often come with additional amenities such as a gym or rooftop pool.
Townhouses offer more space and privacy, as they are usually multi-level properties with their own entrances.
Single-family homes are the largest option, offering the most space and comfort for families or groups.
As for amenities, each type of property may offer different features. Apartments and condos may have shared amenities such as a pool or game room, while townhouses and single-family homes may have their own private pools or outdoor spaces. Some properties may even offer themed bedrooms, such as a Harry Potter or Star Wars room.
Ultimately, it’s important to consider your budget, travel needs, and desired amenities when choosing the type of Airbnb property that’s right for you.
Saving On Your Disney Vacation With AirBnB
When planning a trip to Disney World, it’s always important to consider the cost of accommodations. While traditional hotels can be convenient, they can also be quite expensive, especially for larger groups or families. On the other hand, Airbnb offers a more affordable option, with a wide range of properties available at various price points.
Frugal people are always looking for simple hacks to help cut costs on their Disney World vacation.
By choosing to stay in an Airbnb near Disney World, families or large groups can save significantly on their accommodation costs. Not only that, but many Airbnb properties come equipped with full kitchens, allowing guests to save on dining-out expenses as well.
Planning your meals and snacks is most likely the most expensive and stressful part of planning your Disney World vacation.
One of the biggest ways that you can save money is by staying off Disney property for your overnight accommodations.
As tempting as it may be, those expensive resorts will eat away at all your money very quickly.
Plus, if you’re spending all day enjoying the park and attractions, is it worth it to pay so much money for a room you’ll only be sleeping in?
Airbnb vs Disney Resort
There are Airbnb locations all over the world. You can find some as close to the Magic Kingdom as a 10-minute drive. That’s not that far!
Even if you are Ubering back and forth, you’ll save money. Using Uber to transport your family from the Airbnb daily to and from the park, you can still easily save $200 or more a night.
As an added bonus, when you stay at an Airbnb, you have access to a kitchen! This means that when you first arrive at your Airbnb location, you can take a trip to a local grocery store and purchase real food.
Meal planning is a great way to save money. By shopping for food, you can create some great frugal meals to take with you inside the Disney parks. You can also meal prep some easy dinners so that when you get back at night, you can pop them in the oven for quick and easy meals.
Why The Negatives of an Airbnb Are Still Okay
The negative side of staying at an Airbnb is that you may not feel fully enveloped in the magical feel of Disney. Some say that to truly feel it, you would need to stay in a resort on the property. But the magical resort rooms in Disney World cost a lot of money.
The cheapest rooms in the Disney hotels are not equipped with kitchenettes, themed rooms, or extra amenities. So if you wanted a magical atmosphere, you would be paying more than that.
One of the biggest concerns with Airbnb is the lack of regulation and standardization across properties. Unlike hotels, there is no universal set of standards for cleanliness, safety, or amenities, which can make it difficult to know what to expect when booking an Airbnb.
To overcome that, make sure you are paying attention to reviews and not booking anything under 4.8 stars.
I use AirBnB across the US multiple times a year and have been able to avoid issues that you commonly hear about. I don’t book listings without reviews, which is unfortunate for new hosts.
Why is Airbnb so cheap?
An Airbnb is cheaper than a hotel because it’s someone renting out the use of a bedroom(s) or their entire home for a short period of time.
Unlike hotels where there are employees, insurance, large laundry facilities, and other things driving up the costs, an Airbnb’s price is set by the homeowner.
Since homeowners do not need the fancy accommodations of a hotel, they can have lower rates and still make a profit for themselves.

While I absolutely love the Disney properties, we often stay at least a few nights off property and it saves us a ton of money. An AirBnB with a kitchen is a great idea!
